Curatorial Concepts

Thematics:

Contemporary curators play a key role in developing exhibitions and today have a thematic approach and consistency within their work, their diverse approach has resulted in more variation in curation.
The above image is an exhibition at the Stuart Shave Modern Art Contemporary Gallery, London which involved three artists Karla Black, Elliot Hundley and Ross Tibbles in 2008. The concept of this show is based around sculpture, form and engagement with various beautiful materials.

The Museum of Contemporary Art in New York had an exhibition in 2007 curated by a group of female curators called WACK, the main curator being Connie Butler. Art and the Feminist Revolution included a variation of work which encapsulated different forms of art. This exhibition supplemented the growing interest in Feminist Art.

The exhibition was curated by Alessandro Vincentelli and involves the work of nine contemporary artists who are all interested in the theory on natural selection. This exhibition was beautiful and soft and explored the concept of Darwin's theory of Evolution.
The World as a Stage at the Tate Gallery introduced a revolutionary exhibition mainly based on performance art and so investigates idea of theatrical art in life, staging and performance. The show also involved sculptures and large installations relevant to the idea as the world as a stage in the twenty first century.
