4th February
Budget
We have a total of £20 left of our budget this will be used for the plinths that we have yet to make. The cost of the plinths will on average be £7 to £8 each, therefore we can make three plinths with the budget for this. This raised the question do we need more money for the plinths? We have now bought the fabric which totaled 48m for £48 which we were more than happy with. We have yet to buy wine glasses, napkins and the plinths.Plinths
We have explored Margaret Street for plinths and have now found around 10 which we have left notes on with contact numbers to ask whether we can use these for the dates of our exhibition. We also plan to make an additional 5 plinths which will total in around 15 plinths which should be plenty for the exhibition. We will re paint each plinth prior to the exhibition in order to ensure that all of the work is shown to its best ability.
Artists Statement
We each need to know the concepts and themes behind each artists work so that if any tutors or visitors ask about the work we can give them a brief explanation of the work. Therefore we are creating a written summary of our exhibition and each individual artist, these will be printed off and scattered around the show, along with the press releases.Installation Day
We will arrive from 2pm to install the exhibition ready for the private viewing which will begin at 6pm. We will also man the exhibition over the period of three days in pairs over two hour slots. We will then de-install the exhibition on Friday 14th February from 1pm onwards.Health and Safety
Faith will be meeting with John today to go over the risk assessment form, and any other aspect of the exhibition that needs looking into in detail by our tutor John.Press Release
We have as a group decided on the final press release, although we have feedback for the final draft for various alterations. It needs to be spell checked, artists adding, time of viewing and also the writing needs enlarging. We will each print off two copies of the press release for the exhibition.
Material
We have now bought 48m of fabric, 24m of white organza, 12m of cream organza and 12m of dark purple. The colours compliment one another and work together perfectly in exploring connotations of the Ethereal.
