Designs:
These are the two press releases were designed by Megan Evans, Anna Phillips and Emma Ginster. They have used one of Jack Marders pieces as a background for the design which has then been toned down using effects on Photoshop which echoes the solidity and delicacy of the Ethereal. The main context of the press release is centered in both of these designs which is key as it the most vital part of the exhibition as it describes the concept of the show. The text on both also has a vintage style typeface which reflects the background and the theme. My only suggestion is that the text needs to be larger so it is easily readable for the viewer, another key element is that the time of the private viewing is on the press release. Personally I prefer the top design as I think it mirrors the theme of ethereal more, this is because of a combination of the image used along with the colours and tone of the design as a whole. It would be an interesting to reflect this image within the advertisements that Hannah and I will produce. I think the second design works well and is aesthetically pleasing, however I find the text difficult to read because of the overlapping black ink drops. At our next meeting we will take a vote on the final press release design.
