Recording Footsteps

4th February 2014

After our group meeting we all gathered in the exhibition space PS1 to record our footsteps. Our aim was to record various types of footsteps, i.e:  heavy, light, shuffling, high heels which mimics the norm when people walk around gallery. As the space is empty it should echo around the room too. The recording will aim to produce a disconcerting and unsettling atmosphere in order to create contrast to our theme of ethereal. Julias partner will use professional recording equipment to record the sound of our footsteps and to blank out the majority of the background noise. We spend on average around 30 minutes recording our footsteps which we will then edit into a recording playing on a loop.
